So I have a thing for food trucks. Who doesn’t?

I just got a lovely email reminder from Che Ruddell-Tabisola, Co-Owner of the BBQ Bus and Executive Director of the DC Food Truck Association reminding me about tomorrow’s extravaganza.

Trucko de Mayo is happening tomorrow from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the RFK Stadium, Lot 3.

There will be over 40 food trucks, live music, beer, activities — you know, general awesomeness.

You should check it out. And also, to put on my advocacy hat for a rare moment, you should visit the DCFTA website and learn about some of the regulatory issues food trucks are facing in DC these days. Running a truck is not as simple as it seems — there are issues with parking, hours, whether or not ice cream and cupcake trucks can stay in one spot without a line, and more. The City Council has proposed new regulations that would be a big help — here’s hoping they get passed!
